Position: Special Education Preschool Teacher
We are seeking a passionate and compassionate Special Education Preschool Teacher to provide individualized instruction and support to preschool-aged students with special needs. Responsibilities include:
-Developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs.
-Adapting. modifying and creating curriculum to accommodate various learning styles and developmental levels.
-Utilizing evidence-based instructional strategies to support cognitive, academic, social-emotional, physical, and behavioral development.
-Collaborating with families, support staff, and related service providers to foster student success.
-Maintaining clear and open communication with parents and caregivers regarding student progress and strategies for home support.
-Ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations regarding special education services.
-Creating a nurturing and structured learning environment that fosters student engagement and growth.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, candidates should possess the following qualifications:
-Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or a related field. -Valid Hawaii Teaching License with appropriate special education endorsement. - Experience working with preschool-aged children with special needs preferred. - Strong knowledge of early childhood development and special education practices. - Excellent communication and collaboration skills. - Ability to create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment. Preferred Qualifications:Experience with Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) strategies.
Training in assistive technology and adaptive equipment.
Familiarity with sensory integration techniques.
