Position Overview:

West Lake Country Club is seeking enthusiastic and responsible Summer Camp Counselors to create a fun, safe, and engaging camp experience for children. Counselors will lead campers in a variety of activities, including outdoor play, swimming, arts & crafts, sports, and group games while maintaining a positive and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and actively engage with campers throughout the day, ensuring their safety and well-being.
• Lead and participate in structured activities, including sports, arts & crafts, swimming, and team-building exercises.
• Assist in the setup and cleanup of camp activities, ensuring spaces are kept clean and organized.
• Foster a welcoming, inclusive, and enthusiastic atmosphere for all campers.
• Communicate effectively with campers, parents, and fellow staff members.
• Adhere to all club policies, safety protocols, and emergency procedures.
• Provide basic first aid when necessary and report any incidents to the Camp Director.
• Support and enforce positive behavior expectations among campers.
• Assist in documenting camp activities by sharing photos and videos with the Camp Director for social media and parent communication purposes.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Previous experience working with children in a camp, school, or recreational setting is required.
• Energetic, responsible, and able to work well in a team-oriented environment.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to swim and supervise children in pool settings (lifeguard certification is a plus).
• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain before camp begins).
• Must pass a background check.

Work Schedule & Compensation:

• This is a seasonal position running from 5/21 to 8/4.
• Flexible hours; may include mornings, afternoons, and occasional evenings.
• Compensation based on experience.
