Job Description

Merck is seeking a Project Manager to join the Global Marketing Oncology – New Products Team. This role plays a critical part in launching potential first-in-line oncology assets that address significant unmet patient needs worldwide. The Project Manager will drive commercial launch management and Global-Regional-Local (GRL) engagement, ensuring seamless execution through strong governance, risk management, and cross-functional collaboration. Working with teams across Market Access, Brand Strategy, Insights & Analytics, Medical Affairs, and Precision Medicine, this role will help shape the future of Merck’s oncology portfolio by optimizing launch strategies and execution.

Responsibilities

• Implement and manage a structured Launch Governance Framework to ensure alignment and execution across functional teams.
• Track progress of functional teams against brand and organizational priorities to ensure timely and effective decision-making.
• Lead and oversee project management efforts to drive engagement among global, regional, and local markets for oncology new products.
• Develop and maintain a tracking system to provide visibility into the evolving global commercial team meetings over the next 1-2 years.
• Create and execute communication plans and materials to enhance collaboration across Global-Regional-Local teams.
• Identify and implement opportunities for performance optimization that accelerate execution and support brand and business goals.
• Support and guide cross-functional teams to ensure key milestones are met in an efficient and timely manner.
• Manage risks and dependencies across various workstreams, ensuring proactive issue resolution.
• Foster productive relationships across teams to enhance coordination and streamline processes.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or equivalent Master’s-level education preferred.

Experience

• 7+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical and commercial sector, with oncology experience preferred.
• 7+ years of strong project/program management experience in a pharmaceutical launch setting, preferably in oncology.
• Demonstrated ability to manage projects with transformational impacts, delivering measurable business value.
• Strong track record of driving execution, problem-solving, and optimizing performance in fast-paced environments.
• Experience working across multiple markets with diverse cultures, languages, and time zones.
• Proficiency in MS Office and comfort with learning new software and platforms.
