THIS POSITION IS FOR THE 2025-2026 SCHOOL YEAR
Primary Purpose:
To provide a safe and secure environment for students, staff, and visitors by monitoring school grounds, buildings, and activities; To promote compliance with safety protocols, support campus operations, and intervene in potentially disruptive or unsafe situations.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
• High school diploma or GED
• Must possess or be eligible to obtain certification in crisis prevention/intervention and basic first aid/CPR
• Valid Texas driver’s license (preferred)
Special Knowledge/Skills:
• Strong observational skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with students and adults
• Knowledge of school safety procedures and emergency response protocols
• Ability to remain calm and respond effectively in emergency or crisis situations
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Conflict resolution and de-escalation skills
Experience:
Prior experience in school safety, law enforcement, security, or working with youth preferred
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Monitor hallways, entrances, exits, parking lots, and other common areas to ensure safety and security protocols are followed.
2. Observe student behavior and intervene when necessary to address rule violations or safety concerns.
3. Assist administrators and staff during emergencies, drills, or crisis events.
4. Report suspicious activity, safety hazards, or unauthorized individuals on campus.
5. Escort students or visitors as needed to ensure appropriate supervision.
6. Communicate safety concerns to appropriate personnel and maintain documentation of incidents.
7. Assist in enforcing campus rules and procedures.
8. Support arrival and dismissal procedures to ensure orderly and safe transitions.
9. Collaborate with campus staff, School Resource Officers, and district safety personnel to maintain a secure learning environment.
10. Participate in safety and security training sessions as required.

Environment: Work inside and outside; Exposure to all weather conditions; May involve exposure to potentially volatile situations or emergency scenarios
