Job Description

Clayton Services is searching for a Mechanical Engineer to join a thriving company in North Houston. The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for developing industrial equipment. The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for developing system specifications and layouts.

Job Type: Temp-to-Hire

Pay Rate: $30.00 - $40.00/hour

Mechanical Engineer Responsibilities :

  • Designing innovative HVACR equipment by developing 3D models of complete units using SOLIDWORKS.
  • ​Creating detailed electrical and piping schematics with AutoCAD.
  • Completing major component equipment selections
  • Selecting components and conducting cost analyses for new equipment.
  • Reviewing and balancing HVACR unit performance by selecting and evaluating compressors, pumps, and blowers.
  • Completing refrigerant and fluid piping schematic
  • Completing base and frame drawings
  • Reviewing performance balances for HVACR units, including selecting compressors, selecting pumps, rating heat exchangers, and cross-plotting performances to complete unit balancing
  • Maintain up-to-date records of all work completed and properly store them on the public drive.
  • Testing and troubleshooting new designs to ensure electrical functionality, performance, and quality.
  • Collaborating with the manufacturing team to provide engineering support throughout the build process.
  • Performing engineering calculations for psychrometrics, refrigeration, hydronics, and structural systems.
  • Perform other job duties as assigned
