Job Description

Russell Tobin is working with a leading specialty manufacturer in San Antonio to support their growing team! As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will have diverse responsibilities supporting manufacturing processes, engineering integration, and supplier coordination. This role is slated to be a 1-year contract with potential for extension/conversion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop engineering Bills of Materials (BOM) using ERP management software.
  • Identify and quote manufacturing methods and new materials/components with suppliers.
  • Oversee material procurement and logistics, including:
  • Coordination of shipping for engineering parts (e.g., sterilization, test houses).
  • Material intake, inspection, and documentation.
  • Management of trade compliance activities.
  • Coordinate engineering and production builds:
  • Define process steps and draft manufacturing work instructions.
  • Prepare build requests and develop protocols with manufacturing facilities.
  • Develop, review, and approve design control, compliance, and process documentation.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an applicable engineering discipline (e.g., mechanical, electrical, or biomedical engineering).
  • Proficiency with the MS Office suite.
  • Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven ability to write technical documentation, protocols, and reports.
  • Experience developing and conducting manufacturing validations.
  • Proficiency in quoting materials and components with suppliers.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems in a manufacturing environment.
  • Expertise in GD&T, BOM structure, and setup.
  • Experience in regulated industries, particularly medical devices.
  • Proficiency with MS Project or other Gantt tracking software.
