Data Analyst

Location: 100% Remote (USA)

Job Type: Contract till 08/29/2025 with Potential for Permanent Conversion)

Job Summary:

Premier, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Data Analyst with experience in the healthcare/hospital industry, particularly working with Electronic Health Record (EHR) data. This role requires expertise in SQL and the ability to analyze complex healthcare data sets. The position is a long-term contract with the possibility of permanent conversion (U.S. citizens or Green Card holders only). Candidates must have completed their education in the U.S., and education verification is required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform data analysis on EHR data, identifying trends, patterns, and anomalies.
• Write complex SQL queries, including joins, where clauses, group by, having clauses, and sub-selects.
• Validate data sets to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gain data sign-off and acceptance.
• Research and track data issues to resolution, documenting findings and solutions.
• Lead data review calls, managing open tickets and follow-ups.
• Translate business needs into actionable data insights and reporting.

Required Qualifications:

• Experience: 3-5 years of SQL experience within the healthcare or hospital industry (preferably recent).
• Technical Skills: Strong SQL skills with the ability to write and optimize complex queries.
• Data Analysis: Understanding of relational database concepts, data validation, and troubleshooting.
• EHR Systems: Experience working with major EHR platforms such as Epic, Cerner, Meditech, or Allscripts.
• Healthcare Data Knowledge: Experience analyzing patient and encounter-level data for hospital and ambulatory visits.
• Communication Skills: Ability to document and present data findings clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Education: Bachelor's degree (education must be verified via background check).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Python or R for data analysis.
• Familiarity with FHIR standards.
• Proficiency in Tableau or other data visualization tools.

Additional Information:

• Candidates must be U.S. citizens or Green Card holders due to the potential for permanent conversion.
• A copy of the candidate’s diploma is required for verification.
• This role involves handling Protected Health Information (PHI) and requires compliance with healthcare data security regulations.
