Summary

Administrative support member essential to the efficient operation of truck schedules.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Work with Project Managers and Superintendents to prepare daily trucking schedule for construction crews and HMA plants.
• Proactively communicate and adjusts schedules, as needed, to accommodate changing needs.
• Prepare truck tickets and corresponding backup information for each day.
• Review and research new and existing transportation vendors; programs to reduce, replace and improve upon transportation costs
• Assist shop manager to maintain vehicle maintenance and records as needed.
• Assure all DMV, OSHA and CDL compliance laws are followed.
• Head up fleet management through Fleet Watchers.
• Ensure all safety practices are being enforced including load securement.
• Actively participates in training and development.
• Guide drivers and all outside haulers, coordinates with loading crew for next day hauling.
• Other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed.
• Sometimes our asphalt crews work at night, so availability (by phone) outside of normal work hours is essential.

Job Location

• This position will be located at our Charles Town, WV location.

Requirements

• 1+ years of dispatch experience preferred.
• Understanding of safety and transportation requirements.
• Demonstrated written / oral communication skills.
• Ability to effectively manage time and resource.
• Ability to effectively communicate, verbally and in writing.
• Ability to interface with peers.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office/Excel, Word, Outlook programs.
• Willing to work flexible, and extended hours, if needed.
• College degree preferred.
