Job Description

Our client, a Junior + Missy clothing company, is seeking a Designer with Sweaters experience to join their growing team!

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop styles that align with the seasonal collections, keeping in mind current trends, customer preferences, and brand identity.
• Collaborate with the design team to create mood boards, color palettes, and textile combinations for upcoming collections.
• Lead the design process from concept through to the final product, ensuring quality and adherence to timelines.
• Communicate effectively with product development teams to ensure designs are executed correctly and meet manufacturing standards.
• Stay ahead of market trends and anticipate the needs of customers to keep designs fresh and relevant.
• Participate in fittings and adjust designs as necessary to achieve perfect fit and finish.
• Provide technical design specifications for sweaters, including detailed sketches, patterns, and tech packs.
• Assist in sourcing new materials and suppliers for innovative yarns and fabrics.

Qualifications:

• 4+ years of experience in fashion design.
• Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or a related field a plus
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop) and/or other design software.
• Strong understanding of knitwear construction, yarns, and knitting techniques.
• Ability to create detailed technical sketches and communicate design ideas clearly.
• Excellent color and material sense, with an eye for fabric selection and texture.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and meet deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of garment construction and the production process for knitwear.

$75k-$95k commensurate of experience
