Data Engineer - Data Quality Program (Hybrid - Oakland)

W2 only - 6-month contract

Join our team and play a vital role in enhancing the quality of critical electric asset data. As a Data Quality Program Analyst, you will partner with our lead Program Manager to implement impactful data quality improvement programs, ensuring our data meets the highest standards and drives informed decision-making.

What You'll Do:

  • Implement Data Quality Programs: Collaborate with the lead Program Manager to systematically inventory critical electric asset data, capture metadata, measure data quality, and drive high-priority data improvements.
  • Build Strategic Partnerships: Develop strong relationships with business data stewards, asset data system specialists, IT Foundry ontology team, IT data quality team, and IT architecture team to facilitate program implementation.
  • Lead Metadata Documentation: For critical datasets, lead the documentation of metadata in Collibra, integrate data into Foundry, develop data quality rules, and guide the development of dashboards to monitor data quality.
  • Measure and Report KPIs: Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate program progress and status for clients and senior leadership.
  • Triage and Remediate Errors: Monitor data quality rule performance, triage errors, and implement remediation plans to ensure rules are functional.
  • Collaborate on Rule Updates: Partner with Business Data Stewards to update, modify, or add data quality rules.
  • Ensure Data Governance Standards: Implement data quality action plans where data fails to meet established data governance standards.
  • Advise on Strategy and Roadmap: Provide input to the Program Manager on strategy and roadmap to reflect continuous improvement and expansion into new data types.

What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • 10+ years of related work experience.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proficiency in SQL, MS Excel, Python, Foundry, Informatica, PowerBI, PowerApps, and SharePoint Online.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple reports and processes with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and business SMEs.
