Job Description

Job Title: Project Engineer

Reports To: Engineering Manager

(large scale CCTG or thermal power experience preferred)

Job Summary

The Project Engineer will support construction activities to ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, and in accordance with design and contract requirements. This role works closely with the Engineering Manager and EPC contractor to oversee daily construction activities, monitor quality and safety, and support successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide on-site support during construction to ensure compliance with design documents and contracts.
  • Assist with review and coordination of RFIs, NCRs, permits, and project action items.
  • Inspect contractor work to verify quality, safety, and contractual compliance.
  • Prepare daily progress reports and document issues or challenges.
  • Attend contractor and project team meetings.
  • Monitor site safety and ensure compliance with OSHA and site safety programs.
  • Verify construction milestones and QA/QC requirements.
  • Witness critical construction activities, system turnovers, commissioning, and performance testing.
  • Ensure turnover packages are complete and accurate.
  • Report technical or commercial non-conformances to the Engineering Manager.

Working Conditions

  • Primarily outdoor work on a construction power plant site
  • Located at the project site
  • Weekend work and irregular hours may be required

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or related field)
  • 5–10 years of relevant engineering experience, preferably in power plant construction or operations
  • Strong communication and coordination skills
  • Knowledge of power plant systems, transmission planning, and interconnection processes
  • Familiarity with applicable industry codes and standards

Preferred Skills

  • AutoCAD Civil, PVSyst, Excel/VBA
  • Microsoft Planner or Smartsheets
  • PMP certification
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
