Job Description

McLean Contracting Company is looking to hire a Construction Field Office Clerk to join our team in the Hampton, VA area.

The Construction Field Office Clerk plays a pivotal role in supporting the efficient and organized operations of construction projects. This role involves providing administrative and clerical assistance to the project management team, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring effective communication among various stakeholders.

Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Assists with managing project documentation, including contracts, drawings, specifications, and permits.

Maintains accurate and up-to-date project records, including daily logs, progress reports, and correspondence.

Organizes and files documents in a systematic manner for easy retrieval and reference.

Tracks and documents material deliveries, equipment usage, and subcontractor activities.

Collaborates with the project team to distribute and collect necessary paperwork from subcontractors and suppliers.

Prepares and distributes meeting agendas, minutes, and other communications as needed.

Supports the coordination of inspections and ensures that required documentation is prepared and available.

Possesses excellent interpersonal skills, effective verbal, listening, communication, organizational, and management skills.

Displays high proficiency in computer software programs such as, word processors, spreadsheet programs, and database systems.

Possesses strong organizational skills with an attention to detail and accuracy, an ability to multitask and manage priorities in a fast-paced construction environment.

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or equivalent; relevant coursework or certification in construction management is considered a plus. Previous experience in a clerical or administrative role, preferably in a construction or engineering environment.

Other Skills and Abilities

Must be at least 18 years old, have reliable transportation to work, and able to pass a drug screen and criminal history background check.
