The groundskeeper reports to the Operations Manager and collaborates with the Irrigation Superintendent to efficiently perform all grounds keeping and maintenance. The duties of the groundskeeper must be performed consistent with company mission and values and adherence to company policies and procedures and in doing so uphold the social teachings of the Catholic Church (the Church).

 

As our general Groundskeeper, you will alternate between two cemetery facilities:

• 5-6 weeks at Mt Olivet in Wheat Ridge
• 1 week at Saint Simeon in  Aurora 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Set up for funeral services
• Activate lowering device at gravesite
• Verify gravesites
• General cleaning and upkeep of cemetery grounds
• Maintain stones and vases
• Schedule dump truck to fill gravesite
• Cross training on other facility needs 
• Ditch and grounds cleaning
• Review monument installation as requested
• Distribute prayer cards to guests 
• Observe safety rules and ensure compliance with the operating procedures of corporate, federal, state and local regulations, including OSHA regulations
• Work order completion
• Snow removal and the removal of ice from the grounds as needed
• Help identify grounds and visitor needs and concerns and notify a supervisor as soon as possible
• Be able to collaborate with the 3rd party landscaping company designated onsite
• Ability to recognize sensitive information and adhere to strict confidentiality
• Any other duties assigned by your supervisor
