Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer Pay Rate: $35.00-43.00/hour Location: Rockford, IL 61016 (Onsite 100%) Area Code: 815, 779 Shift: 1st Hire Type: Direct, full time, full benefits #manufacturingengineer #aerospacejobs #manufacturingautomation Position Overview We are seeking a self-motivated and detail-oriented Manufacturing Engineer to support and improve assembly processes for aerospace production. This role requires strong technical problem-solving skills and the ability to collaborate across functions to resolve issues, implement process improvements, and support new developments. Candidates with industrial automation experience will be especially well-suited for this role, though we welcome strong manufacturing engineers with a foundation in assembly processes who are eager to grow in automation. Daily activities include supporting production teams, troubleshooting operator issues, documenting and implementing process changes, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and takes a proactive approach to identifying and solving problems with minimal supervision. Key Responsibilities

• Respond to Andon calls and provide first-line support for operator issues across assembly, test, and final processing.
• Escalate production issues, track root causes and resolutions, and maintain logs and daily reporting.
• Analyze failure data to identify trends, risks, and potential areas for preventive action.
• Support the creation, redlining, and release of Operation Sheets and work instructions in Solumina.
• Lead or support tool installs, process changes, and certification of new/updated operations.
• Manage and execute multiple concurrent manufacturing projects, ensuring delivery on time, within scope, and on budget.
• Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to align project goals and resolve issues.
• Identify risks and roadblocks early; develop and implement mitigation plans.
• Drive continuous improvement through lean methodologies, root cause analysis, and structured problem-solving.
• For automation-focused projects: design, develop, and maintain automated control systems, integrate PLCs/ HMIs/ sensors, and optimize process automation solutions.
• Ensure all work complies with company standards, safety regulations, and applicable quality requirements.

Required Qualifications

• Strong understanding of manufacturing assembly processes, including mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic.
• Hands-on experience with gauges and precision measurement tools (micrometers, plugs, thread gauges, etc.).
• Ability to interpret and apply test specifications, inspection forms, and quality procedures.
• Aerospace manufacturing industry experience.

o Knowledge of industrial automation, robotics, and motion control. o Strong understanding of control systems and electrical circuits. o Experience integrating automation hardware/software into production environments. * Due to the nature of the work US Citizenship required. Preferred Qualifications & Skills

• Experience with paint masking, wiring, final assembly, and outline inspection.
• Ability to install, calibrate, and operate instrumentation.
• Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (Modbus, Ethernet/IP, Profibus).
• Proficiency in CAD software for control diagrams (AutoCAD, PROE, EPLAN, Siemens NX, SolidWorks).
• Knowledge of Solumina and TeamCenter.
• Experience with digital dashboards and data tools (Ignition, Databricks, PowerBI, Tableau, SQL, Python, APIs).
• Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement training/certifications.
